Review: The seventh episode of Ramany vs Ramany 3.0 is entertaining from the word go. With natural performances from the lead cast and organically funny situations, this is by far the best episode of this season. Quite contrasting to previous episodes, the story isn't confined to indoors. And it's a welcome change.
It begins with Ram (Param) discussing boredom associated with taste buds with Ragini (Ponni). The siblings feel that they've been missing their mother's cooking for quite some time and ask their house husband father to take a break for a day. He accepts their request happily, though the children's mother is upset about entering the kitchen after a long time.
Though she starts cooking confidenty aided by a video from a YouTube channel, the unanticipated entry from a food delivery boy makes things topsy-turvy. The situation is such that she takes up the pending orders of the boy as he feels exhausted. During one of the deliveries, she finds out the secret behind her mother's signature dish as well.
Vasuki steals the show single-handedly in this episode because of her expressions and spontaneous humour which works to a large extent. The scene in which she realizes how her mother has been smartly fooling them over the years with regard to preparing a popular dish is hilarious, thanks to its staging and performances from both the artists.
Ramji complements Vasuki's performance as usual, and the scene in which the former lends support to the latter is pleasing to watch. Param and Ponni, too, make their presence felt though they didn't have much to perform this time. This is also perhaps the first time in this season that an actor takes the centre stage alone and engages viewers with subtle, but effective funny sequences.
Verdict: This episode outsmarts all previous episodes of the season by a mile.
