The Last of Us

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, where a mutant virus has infected humans and made them aggressive creatures, the plot follows Joel, a smuggler who is tasked with escorting 14-year-old Ellie out of a quarantine zone as she may be immune to the virus and may be the key to creating a vaccine. The series is based on the 2013 video game The Last of Us developed by Naughty Dog. Pedro Pascal plays Joel, and the rest of the cast includes Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce and Anna Torv, among others. The series, written and developed by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, will also see guest appearances from Storm Reid, Nico Parker, Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett. The Last of Us will be HBO’s first series based on a video game, and it is a joint production by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint, and Word Games.
