India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has vouched for a happy environment in the dressing room that leads to a good match. This is his captaincy mantra. He opened up about how he handles pressure and the players around him to which he gave a straightforward reply, 'allowing them to speak'.
Listening to the players and their concerns is one of the most important aspect of being a captain, especially on the field. While the team is bowling, there are many decisions that can pressurise the captain, but if he had good support, and listens to the players around, things can fall into place.
"I feel a good team culture and a happy team atmosphere are the key. If you want players to be clear in the ground, keeping them happy and allowing them to speak and listening to their ideas off the field is important. Captain and leader is just a position. You need to speak to all the players and ask them how they want tht team to be run. It's basically about driving the car together," said Suryakumar Yadav at the press conference.

Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about how the New Zealand team is and if anything has changed since they last played them in the bilateral series. The Kiwis do have a good team with talented batters and bowlers. They won their last game against South Africa by nine wickets. Hence, taking them lightly is not something the Indian players would do.
"I haven't watched their matches. But, yeah, we played them recently before the World Cup. The team is also 95 percent similar. But, yes, they have been playing good cricket. We are also playing cricket. I am sure it will be a good match," he added.
