In the final and deciding match of the AUS vs SA T20I series at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns, Australia made three changes to their lineup after their defeat in the second game. Meantime, South Africa made one huge change in their lineup for the series decider.
Australia come into the match after losing the second T20I, which leveled the series 1-1. The Aussies brought in Nathan Ellis, Josh Inglis, and Aaron Hardie as new faces in the playing XI. Ellis replaced Sean Abbott, Inglis came in for the wicketkeeper Alex Carey, and Hardie was included in place of Mitchell Owen.

Captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl first, aiming to turn things around from the previous defeat. Meantime, Aiden Markram, the South African captain, also wanted to bat. So, both the captains got what they were looking for in the final T20I match of the series.
South Africa, who were buoyed by a commanding performance in the second T20I thanks to Dewald Brevis’ spectacular unbeaten 125, made a single significant change to their lineup.
Spinner Senuran Muthusamy returned to the playing XI, replacing Nqabayomzi Peter. Captain Aiden Markram indicated that the pitch looked dry and in the one BBL game played at this venue, spinners got assistance from the surface. So, he wanted to use that to their advantage with Muthusamy coming in the lineup.
