English football club Birmingham City FC (BCFC) recently welcomed South Korean midfielder Paik Seung-ho to their team. However, the way they made the announcement has sparked an online dispute between BTS fandom ARMY and football fans. The soccer player, who has signed a two-year contract with the football club, became the first South Korean player to represent Birmingham City FC. However, the club has been accused of copying the BTS logo to make the announcement.

Birmingham City FC has been actively sharing press releases and posting content on its official social media platforms to share news about the new signing. But their recent post on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has stirred a wave of confusion and frustration among K-pop fans, particularly ARMY.

The football club used a logo in their "coming soon" post for Paik Seung Ho that closely resembled the beloved BTS emblem and included the initials 'PSH' for Paik Seung-ho.

This unexpected similarity has left ARMY perplexed and upset, questioning the originality and intent behind the club's choice of design. Many fans responded to the post by asking, "What's this?" and expressing confusion.

However, what upset ARMY even more is the way football fans have been treating them and making derogatory remarks. ARMY also stated that the club could face legal action if the logo had been wrongfully used.

Paik Seung-ho moves to BCFC:

After making his international debut in 2019 and having amassed 15 caps to date, Paik Seung-ho moved to Birmingham City FC in the English Football League Championship, the second-tier division. Notably, he netted Korea's sole goal in their 4-1 defeat to Brazil in the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.

The Korean international and Asian Games gold medalist emerged from FC Barcelona's youth academy and garnered limited experience with their B team before transitioning to another Spanish club, Girona.

Following stints at Girona and their reserve team, Paik ventured to Germany to play for Darmstadt 98 in the Bundesliga from 2019 to 2021.

In March 2021, Paik went on to sign a deal with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in Korea's K League 1. Across three seasons with the club, he clinched the K League 1 title in 2021 and the FA Cup title the subsequent year.
