This is what the fans of the red and black jersey have been waiting for 17 years just saying one line over and over again - 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' and surely enough the women have done it as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women lifted the second edition title of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024.

RCBW not only reached the Final by defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) but also displayed a terrific bowling performance, and later chased the below-par total of 114 against table-toppers Delhi Capitals (DC). It is surely heartbreaking for the Delhi franchise who have lost their second final, the first loss came in the first edition against MI.

DCW vs RCBW Highlights:

It was indeed a clinical victory for the RCB girls, who secured the title with an eight-wicket win over DC in the final at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Sunday. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, DC got off to a flying start, but the side went from 61 for 0 at the end of the batting Powerplay to 113 all-out in 18.3 overs.

RCB's openers forged a solid partnership, maintaining a run-a-ball pace and consistently ticking the runs. The RCB women successfully chased down the target of 114 with three balls to spare courtesy of Richa Gosh smashing the final four runs much to the disappointment of the weekend crowd that came to support the home team.

Shafali Verma (44 off 27 balls) was the lone bright spot for DC before they collapsed, losing 10 wickets for just 49 runs. Spinners Shreyanka Patil (4/12) and Sophie Molineux (3/20) led RCB's remarkable recovery after Shafali's strong start at the top of the order.
