At the start of Day 2, Indian fans would have hoped for a fight from the lower-order batter, but India were bundled out within the first hour of the day. Gus Atkinson's 33/5 helped England bowl out India on 224, the lowest innings total of the series. Karun Nair could only add five to his overnight total, and the rest of the batters added only 15 more for India.
India's poor start to Day 2 continued when England openers Ben Duckett and Zack Crawley gave the hosts a quick start with the bat. Although Duckett looked a bit troubled in his early few balls, he decided to bring his white-ball mode to counterattack.
Before Indian bowlers could find any resolution to that, England had added 92 for the first wicket in just 12.5 overs. Akash Deep dismissed Duckkett on 43 from 38 balls to keep the run flow in check.

India struck early in the second session as Prasidh Krishna dismissed Crawley (64) with a short ball. Soon, Mohammed Siraj brought an end to Ollie Pope's inning as he trapped the English captain in front of the wicket. Although Joe Root and Harry Brook tried to counter, an on-song Siraj, who bowled eight overs in total, dismissed Root on 29.

Siraj then dismissed Jacob Bethell with an inswinging yorker while Prasidh Krishna took two wickets in the final over before tea to hand India a great comeback.

Post tea, Harry Brook tried to score some quick runs, but Mohammed Siraj cleaned up his stumps to put an end to England's innings at 247. England managed a good lead of 23 runs. But India looked the happiest among them with the comeback they had made.
In the second inning, Yashasvi Jaiswal attacked the English bowlers while KL Rahul made a conservative approach. Rahul, though, failed to make it big, but Jaiswal hit some graceful boundaries to score a quick fifty. Jaiswal was dropped by Liam Dawson while Sai Sudharsan was dropped by Crawley at slips.
However, Sai was dismissed on 11 by Atkinson as Akash Deep came out as the night watchman for India before bad light ended the day's proceedings. India finished day 2 at 75/2 and are leading by 53 runs.
