India can sigh a relief as England reached 72/3 at Stumps on Day 4, and need 536 runs to win. For England, Harry Brook (15*) and Ollie Pope (24*) were unbeaten and will resume batting on the final day. For India, Mohammed Siraj took the wicket of Zak Crawley for a seven-ball duck.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill's 161 off 162 balls helped India declare their innings at 6/427 in the final session and set a target of 608 runs. In the first session, we saw Karun Nair (26) was dismissed by Brydon Carse and Josh Tongue also removed KL Rahul (55). Meanwhile, India began Day 4 with a 244-run lead, and has done a praiseworthy job.

Gill surpassed Sunil Gavaskar’s run tally of 344 against West Indies in that storied Port of Spain Test in 1971. Praising this, Virat Kohli wrote on Instagram, “Well played star boy. Rewriting history. Onwards and upwards from here. You deserve all of this.” 

Meanwhile, the India Test cricket team, led by Shubman Gill, is in the front seat on Day 5. England need 536 runs to win, while India need 7 wickets to win the 2nd Test.
