    How to watch in India

For fans in India, they can watch the India vs South Africa ODI series on JioHotstar, accessible via OTTplay Premium.

    Rohit–Kohli back in action

The series is being framed as a marquee home ODI outing for India, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli expected to headline the batting group after selective breaks around other tours. This series will give Indian fans a chance to watch two modern greats again in familiar conditions.

Their presence brings balance to India’s top order: Rohit’s aggressive powerplay approach and Kohli’s anchor role through the middle overs remain central to India’s ODI template. Against a strong South African pace attack, their individual battles with the new ball and at the death will be among the major viewing attractions of this series.

Rohit, who was Player of the Series against Australia in Australia, will look to continue his form, while Kohli scored an unbeaten fifty in the final ODI against the Aussies. He will be looking to return to his best in home conditions against the Proteas.

Past series results and H2H stats

India and South Africa have traded blows in recent bilateral ODI series, with home advantage often proving decisive. South Africa won a home ODI series 3–0 in 2021–22, underlining India’s struggles in South African conditions at that time.

India responded by winning the next home ODI series against them by 2-1 in the 2022-23 season. However, India then continued their winning streak against South Africa, winning the 2023-24 series by 2-1.

In 94 ODIs played between them, India has won 40 times, while South Africa has been more dominant, winning 51 matches. 3 games ended in no results.
