The much-anticipated clash between India Women and Pakistan Women in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 is set to be a thrilling encounter for cricket fans worldwide. As the two arch-rivals prepare to face off in Colombo, excitement is building, but concerns about the weather loom over the match, threatening to spoil the cricketing spectacle.

India started with a win

India started their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 campaign with a winning note by defeating Sri Lanka in their opening game. Although the top order batters could not do much in Guwahati, Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma, the all-rounders, contributed with the bat for India.

Fifties from both of them, and Deepti Sharma’s spin helped India beat Sri Lanka by 59 runs.

Pakistan’s shaky start

On the other hand, Pakistan started poorly as they were beaten by Pakistan in their opening match in Colombo. Pakistan batters could not do justice to their talent, meantime their bowlers could not trouble the Bangladeshi batters as well.

Bangladesh had an easy 7-wicket win against them, and they would now need to have a great turnaround to change their fortune.

Weather to play a part in this match

Weather interruptions could dramatically impact how the game unfolds. A reduced-overs game or delays might force teams to alter strategies, whether through aggressive batting to accelerate scoring or bowlers exploiting conditions when play resumes.

The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method could come into play if rain reduces overs, adding pressure on both sides to adapt quickly and seize the changing opportunities.

Currently, the weather is cloudy in Colombo and there is more than 80% chance of rain during the day time. Moreover, there could be rain in the night as well.

30 degrees Celsius will be the highest temperature of the day, while 25 being the lowest. With the form Indian team have currently, they would love to get a full game and win by a big margin against Pakistan to have a better net run rate.
