While it was known that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hadn't won a game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium since 2008, this year felt different, especially after their women's team lifted the Women's Premier League (WPL) title just days earlier. However, in the season opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB faltered and lost the game by 6 wickets.

CSK gave their fans a win upon returning to their fortress. However, for RCB fans, it was heart-break, but not an unusual sight to see their favourite team lose. Soon enough, fans took to social media platforms, including X (formerly known as Twitter), to trend 'Vintage RCB is RCBing' - stating that this was typical of their team's performance.
