The crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is surely having a blast as their home side, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is unleashing a fury of runs against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 8 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. While Mayank Agarwal (11) didn't score much, it was Travis Head (62 off 24) and Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23) who looked unstoppable.

After 15 overs, SRH has already scored 201 runs, leading many to wonder: will the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) total of 263 be broken? RCB had posted the mammoth score and lost just 5 wickets against Pune Warriors (PW) in Bengaluru on April 23, 2013. Fans have taken to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to speculate that SRH is indeed aiming to reach 300 runs.

Travis Head's innings consisted of 9 fours and 3 sixes, while Abhishek Sharma smashed 3 fours and 7 maximums. Currently, Aiden Markram (34) and Heinrich Klaasen (30) are at the crease and have helped add more runs to the total of 214 for 3 after 16 overs. MI will need to break this dangerous partnership if they want to stem the SRH run-scoring.

This match holds special significance for former MI skipper Rohit Sharma, who is playing his 200th IPL game for the Mumbai franchise. He was gifted a special '200' jersey by Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
