After losing their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be looking to rectify their mistakes and secure their first win of the season, this time at their home ground against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The clash has begun positively for them, at least at the toss, which they won, opting to bowl first, eliciting joyous eruptions from the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

However, one thing the fans have been wary about is their not-so-strong bowling unit. Retaining the same team as their first clash, the bowlers to feature in this game will be Alzarri Joseph, Mayank Dagar, Mohammed Siraj, and Yash Dayal, with contributions expected from Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green as well. Fans lack confidence in this unit, as RCB has historically been known for its batting strength.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), many fans expressed concerns about the bowling, with some even stating that if PBKS fail to achieve a score above 200, especially at this small venue and against this bowling unit, it will be disappointing.

During the toss, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was asked whether the women's team winning the Women's Premier League (WPL) would be an added pressure or a confidence boost. Faf replied, "You could say that RCB hasn't won a trophy, but the ladies (RCBW) broke the seal, and hopefully, that motivates us. The boys are excited for the season."
