IPL 2024; SRH preview: Sunrisers Hyderabad's squad, schedule, and team profile and all you need to know

As franchises are gearing up for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), this article focuses on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and their preparations, team, schedule, and more for the 2024 edition.

SRH from 2023 to 2024:

In 2023, the Sunrisers Hyderabad finished 10th - last - on the points table, winning only 4 games and losing 10 out of the 14 league matches played.

The side has won the title just once - in 2016 and after that, made it to the playoffs in 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2020. However, they have not advanced beyond the league stage for the past three years and have even changed their coaches - Trevor Bayliss in 2021, Tom Moody in 2022, and Brian Lara in 2023.

For the new season, they appointed Pat Cummins as their new skipper who, in 2023, had won the ODI World Cup for Australia.

SRH's IPL 2024 team composition:

Not only did they acquire Pat Cummins, whom they got for a whopping 20.5 crore, but they also made changes to their staff, getting Daniel Vettori as the head coach and James Franklin as their fast bowling coach.

During the trading window last year, SRH acquired Shahbaz Ahmed from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Mayank Dagar.

At the mini-auction, they also acquired World Cup-winning batter Travis Head (6.8 crore) and Wanindu Hasaranga (1.5 crore).

April 5: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad at 7:30 PM IST
