United has played against West Ham United (2-1) and Bournemouth (4-1) in the Premier League Summer Series, as well as having a preseason opener against Leeds United (0-0) in Sweden. However, coach Ruben Amorim has yet to give Bryan Mbeumo a start in the preseason. With their upcoming match against Everton on Sunday, Amorim has announced that Mbeumo will make his debut in that game.

“He's going to play. I'm really excited to see him playing and what he can give to our team. But I was also really excited to see the team playing the last game.

"You maybe looked at the starting line-up and said 'nothing to see today' but I was so excited because I know we can do better. So I'm always excited, especially at this moment," Ruben said about Mbeumo's probable debut against Everton.

United looking to add another striker to their lineup

Despite already signing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, Ruben Amorim is still looking to add another striker to their lineup for the upcoming season. After a horrible last season, United is currently aiming to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. In the meantime, Alejandro Garnacho is all set to leave the club this summer, and Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign the Argentine.

“To hope is a strong word," Ruben Amorim said about signing new players.

“But we are always looking to improve the team, and we have some characteristics that we would like to have. But again, it depends on the market. It depends on the sales. We'll see. But I'm really happy.

“I think even when you talk about Andre [Onana], you can see the other goalkeepers. Even Tom [Heaton] is linear, he's a different goalkeeper. Altay [Bayindir] did really well and Andre is going to be better like the other guys who are getting better this year.”
