As Arsenal gear up for their highly anticipated fixture against Manchester United, head coach Mikel Arteta remains steadfast in his belief that continued hard work will eventually bring the club the success it craves. Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta highlighted the importance of persistence, explaining, "If you keep digging, digging and digging, then one day the gold is going to be there. Highlighting the Gunners’ recent consistency, Arteta pointed out that over the last three seasons, Arsenal have collected more combined points than any other team in the league. "Now we just have to do it in a season," he added, underlining the need to translate that consistency into actual silverware.

Arteta on Odegaard being the captain

On the question of leadership, Arteta addressed the recent club captaincy vote, revealing a clear and unanimous choice within the squad. "My opinion is clear, and it is the same as all the staff and the players. I asked them to vote for the captain yesterday and by a mile, by a mile, they all chose the same person, Martin Odegaard. Which is the most clear sign you can have of how the squad feel we can improve."

"His adaptation has been really, really good"

Arteta also touched upon new signing Viktor Gyokeres, expressing his satisfaction with the striker’s adaptation to the Premier League and the team. "I can just talk about Viktor and how happy we are to have him. He is going to have a tremendous impact in the team and his adaptation has been really, really good and we are happy to have him. Many strikers have come from different leagues and been successful and it's on us to create the right conditions for him to be successful."

Viktor and Zubimendi declared fit for Sunday

Providing the latest on team fitness ahead of the clash with Manchester United, Arteta revealed encouraging news. "Viktor Gyokeres is getting better and better every day. He is normally a really fit player and he has had the small moments in two games in pre-season with us, so let's see what he brings on Sunday. Martin Zubimendi has had a great integration into the team, and we are really happy with him. He will be fit for Sunday."

Arteta on Trossard's fitness

On the availability of Leandro Trossard, Arteta said, “I think he's much better.” "I think he will be able to train again tomorrow and if that's the case, he will be fit," he added.
