Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to return to international cricket during India's ODI series against Australia in October 2025, following their retirements from T20Is and Tests.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of India's cricketing stalwarts, are set to make their much-anticipated return to international cricket during the India tour of Australia ODI series in October 2025. After retiring from T20 Internationals in 2024 and Test cricket in May 2025, they are now focusing on the 50-over format and are poised to don the Indian colors against Australia once again.

The three-match ODI series between Australia and India is scheduled to begin on October 19, 2025, at Perth Stadium in Perth. The second ODI will be held on October 23 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, followed by the third ODI on October 25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney.
The first ODI would start at 11 am IST, while the second one would kick-off at 9.30 am IST, and the final one from 9 am IST.

Although the fans loved the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Rohit was dropped as the captain of the Indian squad. Shubman Gill, who was named the captain of the test team a few months back, was named the ODI captain for the Australia series.
Meantime, Suryakumar Yadav will continue as the T20I captain for the tour.
