The UEFA Champions League 2025/26 league phase draw was completed on Thurshday, 28 August at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, bringing together 36 elite European clubs as they get to know their group stage opponents for the upcoming season.
The matchday 1 of the league phase, following the draw, will take place between September 16 and 18, 2025, and will continue until the final regular league matchday on January 28, 2026.
The final of the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 will take place on May 30, 2026, at the iconic Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
The 36 teams were divided into four pots based on their UEFA club coefficient rankings, with reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) headlining Pot 1 as the top seed.
During the draw, each team was against eight different clubs, facing two teams from each pot.
Each matchup will consist of a home and away leg.
Interestingly, the draw is designed to prevent clubs from the same national association from facing each other more than twice.
Former Brazilian great Kaka and one of the greatest strikers of the modern era, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, were present during the draw. Ibrahimovic was also presented with the UEFA President’s Awards 2025.
