Ravindra Jadeja survived on the first ball of his inning during India's second inning of the ENG vs IND, 4th test in Manchester. Jofra Archer, who had Indian captain Shubman Gill out with a quick outgoing ball, could have had two in two just before the lunch break on day 5.

After getting rid of the in-form Shubman Gill on 103, who became only the 3rd batter in the history of test cricket to score four tons in a series as a captain, Jofra Archer had an added steam to his run-up.
Archer came in running around the wicket to Jadeja, and tried to angle the ball in and then move it away from him with an angled seam position. The ball was around the fifth stump, and Jadeja could have easily left the ball as well. However, the angle made him play, and he poked at it with his hard hands.
The edge flew quickly to first slip, where Joe Root, the player with the most catches as an outfielder, was fielding. The ball was a bit high for Root, but surely it was catchable. Root jumped in the air with both hands but could not grab the ball. The rebound ball dropped near him as well, but Root could not latch on to it.

Right before lunch, if India had lost both Gill and Jadjea, India's chance of saving the test match and series would have been over. Earlier on Day 5, India had lost KL Rahul on 90 as well. Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja are batting at the moment for India.
