Theirs is said to be the next big tennis rivalry – World No.1 Jannik Sinner and No 2. Carlos Alcaraz will meet in the final of Wimbledon on July 13, 2025. It comes only a month after they’d played each other in Roland Garros, where Alcaraz went on to win and clinch his second consecutive French Open title. While Alcaraz is the defending champion and has won Wimbledon twice already, this is Sinner’s first-ever final on the grass court.
Earlier in the day, Alcaraz has sealed his spot for a third consecutive Wimbledon final, trouncing Taylor Fritz in a well fought 4-set match. Following them on court were Sinner and Novak Djokovic, with the World no.1 predicted to win, but no one ready to write off the 38-year-old 7 time Wimbledon champ either.
Sinner, who had dropped only 2 sets in his Wimbledon campaign so far, which, interestingly came in the match that he got a walkover in eventually, was clinical in his straight set demolition of Djokovic in the second semi-final. The match was over in less than two hours, as Djokovic literally seemed to have no fight left in him.
On Sunday, Sinner and Alcaraz will meet at 6 pm (IST) on Centre Court. The duo has played each other a whopping 12 times already, with the defending Wimbledon champion holding a clear advantage. Alcaraz has won 8 of their 12 encounters, 5 of which came between 2024 and 2025. The last time that Sinner managed to trounce Alcaraz was in the 2023 semi-final of the Beijing Open.
At a Grand Slam level, Alcaraz 3:1 record against Sinner, beating the latter twice on the clay court of Roland Garros and once at the US Open. Sinner’s sole Grannd Slam victory against Alcaraz was at the 2022 Wimbledon’s Round of 16. The Alcaraz vs Sinner final can be streamed live on JioHotstar with OTTplay Premium.
In the women’s singles category, the final match is between Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova. While the former is a five-time Grand Slam winner, Anisimova is in her first final. They play each other on July 12 at 6 pm (IST).
