From Succession to The Bear, where to watch the 75th Emmy Award-winning series on OTT

Succession and The Bear dominated at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards with six wins each.

Succession; The Bear

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences selected the top American primetime television shows from June 1, 2022, through May 31, 2023, for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. After the 2023 Hollywood labour conflicts postponed the ceremony until September, it was finally streamed live on Lionsgate Play. The ceremony awarded a total of 26 Emmys. Hosted by Anthony Anderson, Jesse Collins Entertainment produced the event.

Among all shows, Succession took home six major awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, while The Bear took home six awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series. In terms of overall program wins, including 10 in the Creative Arts category, The Bear was unrivalled. Beef received five awards, including one for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. There were a number of other award-winning series, including Abbott Elementary, Black Bird, Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium, RuPaul's Drag Race and The White Lotus each of which received one.

Abbott Elementary: Disney+ Hotstar

Abbott Elementary is a mockumentary sitcom by Quinta Brunson. In it, Brunson plays Janine Teagues, a second grade teacher at Abbott Elementary, a made-up, mostly Black school in Philadelphia, who is eternally hopeful despite the school's lack of resources. Sheryl Lee Ralph, William Stanford Davis, Lisa Ann Walter, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, and Tyler James Williams are all part of the ensemble cast.

On December 7, 2021, the show made its television debut as a midseason addition to the 2021–22 season. The show received seven Primetime Emmy nominations for its first season and won three awards. Quinta Brunson took home her first acting trophy this year for her role as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. In January 2023, the series renewed for a third season, scheduling a two-episode launch on February 7, 2024. The season will consist of fourteen episodes.

Beef on Netflix

Lee Sung Jin of Korea directed Beef, a Netflix miniseries that combines comedy and drama. Two strangers, Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong), are involved in a road rage incident and end up feuding for a long time. Patti Yasutake, David Choe, Young Mazino, and Joseph Lee all make cameo appearances as supporting characters.

Upon its Netflix launch, critics praised the ten-episode series for its script, directing, and performances by Yeun and Wong. Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, as well as acting awards for Yeun and Wong, were among its eight victories at the 75th Primetime Emmys.

Black Bird: Apple TV+

James Keene and Hillel Levin wrote Black Bird: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption, an autobiographical novel, in 2010. Dennis Lehane later adapted it into a miniseries, transforming it into a true crime thriller about a serial killer. Premiering on Apple TV+ on July 8, 2022, the miniseries consisted of six episodes. Acclaim for the show was universal, with reviewers praising both the actors and Jimmy Keene's innovative plot. The winner of the 75th Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie was Paul Walter Hauser.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix

Season one of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's real crime anthology series Monster, titled "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," premiered on Netflix on September 21, 2022. Along with Brennan, Murphy is an executive producer and also runs the show. Serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer's (Evan Peters) life is the subject of Dahmer. In addition to Michael Learned's grandma Catherine, Richard Jenkins's Lionel, Molly Ringwald's Shari, Niecy Nash's suspicious neighbour Glenda, and Dahmer's father Lionel all play significant roles.

The 75th Primetime Emmy Award-nominated show received six nominations, including best limited or anthology series and best lead actor for Peters in a limited or anthology film or series. On the other hand Niecy Nash-Betts was honoured with the best supporting actress in a limited or anthology film—a major accomplishment.

Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium, Disney+ Hotstar

As the last leg on his farewell tour of North America, "Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium" provides an exclusive live feed of John's performance at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium. At the 2023 Emmys, Elton John won Outstanding Variety Special (Live), completing his EGOT.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, JioCinema

Comedian John Oliver hosts Last Week Tonight, a late-night American discussion show and news satire, sometimes abbreviated as Last Week Tonight. The half-hour series debuted on HBO around the tail end of April 2014. On a weekly basis, Last Week Tonight satirises politics, news, and current events.

The show received both Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

RuPaul's Drag Race, Netflix

The inaugural installment of the Drag Race series, RuPaul's Drag Race, is a reality competition show on television. Looking for "America's next drag superstar" is what the show is all about, according to RuPaul. As the show progresses, RuPaul takes on the responsibilities of host, mentor, and chief judge, and the participants face new difficulties weekly. One or more guest judges provide constructive criticism to contestants as they go through the competition, and RuPaul and Michelle Visage make up the panel of judges. The third primary judge rotates between Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, and Ts Madison.

At the most recent Emmy Awards, the show was named Outstanding Reality Competition Program.

Succession: JioCinema

From June 3, 2018, until May 28, 2023, HBO broadcast Jesse Armstrong's satirical comedy-drama series Succession. The Roy family owns Waystar RoyCo, a worldwide media and entertainment conglomerate that the series revolves around. The show follows the Roys as they struggle to maintain control of the firm while worrying about the patriarch's health.

Succession received six awards at the 2023 Primetime Emmys, all bestowed upon Succession: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Mark Mylod, and Jesse Armstrong were the recipients of the top honours.

The Bear, Disney+ Hotstar

The Bear is a comedy-drama TV series that Christopher Storer created. Jeremy Allen White plays the role of a Michelin-starred chef who goes back to his childhood home of Chicago to take over the sandwich restaurant his late brother ran. Members of the ensemble cast include Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, the show took home six statuettes: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Jeremy Allen White) Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Ayo Edebiri), and Outstanding Directing and Writing for a Comedy Series (Christopher Storer).

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (YouTube)

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah is a late-night news show that combines discussion with humour. It pulls its comedic and satirical material from current events, politicians, and media outlets, and it frequently employs self-referential humour. The Primetime Emmy Awards once again went to the show for Outstanding Talk Series.

The White Lotus, JioCinema

Mike White is the brains behind HBO's dark comedy-drama anthology series, The White Lotus. The fictional White Lotus resort chain's personnel and guests interact differently according to their different psychological dysfunctions. These seemingly flawless tourists, the hotel's upbeat staff, and the picturesque setting all reveal more and more of their shadowy sides as the series progresses. Maui is the location of Season 1, whereas Sicily is the setting of Season 2. Jennifer Coolidge won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the second consecutive year.
