Malayalam actress Carmen talked about the work she put into playing Kuruvi and how this movie is expected to offer her the big break she's always wanted in an interview with OTTplay.

Carmen S Mathew is making her big breakthrough with the latest Malayalam film, Chatha Pacha, which released on January 22. In this WWE-based sports action movie, the young actress, who has had minor roles in Ronth and Officer on Duty, plays a wrestler, Nitro Kili aka Kuruvi. She talked about the work she put into playing Kuruvi and how this movie is expected to offer her the big break she's always wanted in an interview with OTTplay.

'Chatha Pacha, a dream come true'

Being a part of Chatha Pacha, according to Carmen, is a dream come true because she had been hoping for this kind of breakthrough from the start. "Kuruvi has a lot of screen time throughout the movie. She is the only female wrestler in the group and has a fearless perspective on life that is essentially the same as mine," she remarked.

The actress recalled how her co-stars and the rest of the crew provided her with insightful advice and frank criticism during the filming. "The energy on the set was the same and I never had a left out feeling at any point," she stated.

'One month training for Kuruvi'

Carmen disclosed that she trained hard for Kuruvi for a month. "I have been a dancer and musician since I was a young child. But this kind of intense training is new, and it took my body a week to become used to it because of the discomfort that increased my body's flexibility and mobility," she said. The actress continued by saying that it was crucial for her to develop stamina because even just one move required several takes.

"I can't adequately describe the tranquilly it has brought to my mental well-being; this discipline has become a habit in my life. Sometimes it feels so good to show off your muscles," she exclaimed. Carmen claimed that although she sustained a few minor injuries during the filming, it was all worthwhile when a move like a cartwheel or flip went well.
