Exclusive! Akshay Oberoi on his character in Gaslight: Rana is a mysterious guy

Akshay Oberoi is one of the most versatile actors in India. From playing an adorable romantic guy to a vicious villain, the talented actor has been seen in a barrage of films and shows. Gaslight is one of his highly anticipated ventures also starring Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh.
In a recent chat with OTTplay, Akshay spoke about his character as well as shared his thoughts about the world of Pavan Kirpalani's film.
Talking about the film and his character named Rana, Akshay mentioned, "I think the word surprising sums up the film. Not only all the characters but the full movie will be surprising. Whodunits, the genre itself is surprising and mysterious. And that, for me was also challenging. The requirement of the character is that as soon as the audience meets this character they should know who is this guy. But, in this, it was completely different as it slowly reveals Rana's character. Towards the end of the journey, this character, the audience will know, who this character is and that was a challenge as well as exciting for me."

"He is a mysterious guy. When you meet him, you'll think about him in a certain way but he is not going to be what you think he is. And he is a prince from yesteryear. So, he carries that blue blood. He is a character full of doubts and insecurities yet has an air of confidence," he added.
Written and directed by Pavan Kirpalani, the screenplay of the film has been done by the filmmaker himself along with Neha Sharma. Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri have bankrolled the movie under the banners of Tips Industries and 12th Street Entertainment.
Gaslight will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31, 2023.
