Director Rajkumar Periasamy, who delivered blockbuster success Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan, last year, celebrating the film's success towards completing 100 days, as he shared a special photograph with director Mani Ratnam and recollected an anecdote.

Amaran director celebrates 100 days

2024 has been a middling year for Tamil cinema, but Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran made a splash and emerged as box office success. Helmed by filmmaker Rajkumar Perisamy, the director celebrating the film's success towards 100 days with a special post.

Sharing a photograph with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, Rajkumar penned an emotional note. Stating that it was the Thug Life director who inspired him into filmmaking, Rajkumar wrote, "Towards #100DaysOfAmaran. Mani sir, you were the reason for me to dream about films and be fascinated with filmmaking; you were the first person I ever wanted to take a picture with and took it in 2005! To my heartbreak, I lost it as well. Took me two decades and two films to muster the courage to take this with you. From being in awe of your posters, to standing next to you, I remain speechless…Thank you for all your encouragement for #Amaran and me. Forever grateful to u #Maniratnam sir.”

Where to watch Amaran on OTT?

Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, in the lead roles is available for streaming on Netflix. The film is a biopic on late Major Mukund Varadarajan, who served in the Rashtriya Rifles in Jammu and Kashmir and lost his life while on duty. The film is produced by Kamal Haasan, and went on to become a blockbuster success, with many appreciating Sivakarthikeyan’s performance.

Meanwhile, Rajkumar will be next working with Dhanush, for a yet-to-be-titled project. Tentatively called D55, the film is produced by Sushmita Anbuchezian under Gopuram Films banner. A release date is yet to be announced.
