13 Days 13 Nights is arriving in India on Vrott (also accessible via OTTplay Premium) on June 16, 2026. The French political thriller is based on Mohamed Bida's 2022 book of the same name, in which he wrote about his experience in Kabul.
Directed by Martin Bourboulon, 13 Days 13 Nights stars Roschdy Zem as Mohamed Bida, along with Lyna Khoudri as a humanitarian worker. Shoaib Said plays the Taliban leader, and Yan Tual is the French Special Forces operative. Sidse Babett Knudsen, Christophe Montenez and Nicolas Bridet are also part of the cast
The political thriller depicts the frantic evacuation of the French Embassy and five hundred civilians from Kabul during the chaotic Taliban takeover in August 2021. It follows Commandant Mohamed Bida and his team as they race against time to reach the airport. It's a gripping, true-story-based flick about survival, hope, and grit amidst nationwide chaos, focusing on the desperate struggle to save lives in the city for straight thirteen days and thirteen nights.
The movie highlights some tragic terrorist attacks targeting the airport gates, during which Bida and the humanitarian worker Eva desperately try to rescue the remaining people from evacuation. The attacks led to multiple casualties, including US military personnel.
Back in July, Lire Magazine had a chat with director Martin Bourboulon, when he said that adapting a book is interesting because there's both a pre-existing plot and a great deal of freedom to use it, and this balance excites him.
13 Days 13 Nights: In The Hell of Kabul grossed $4 million at the worldwide box office, as per the tracker Box Office Mojo.
