No awards for Sthanarthi Sreekuttan

The makers of Sthanarthi Sreekuttan, along with a number of online users, questioned why such it did not receive any awards or special mentions. The movie won praise for bringing about significant change in classrooms across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Punjab which is rearranging benches in a semicircle around the teacher to encourage equality.

Following the announcement of the awards, Prakash Raj, the jury chair, asked the film industry to consider producing more children's films. "It is not a children's movie if only a few kids are cast. Children's perceptions were not discussed in any of the submitted films," he stated.

Following these comments, Vinesh, the director of Sthanarthi Sreekuttan, wrote on Facebook, "In a world of 'no worthy entries for Best Child Actor,' they stand tall." A screenshot of the scenario with the spherical seating arrangement was included in the social media post. Anand Manmadhan, one of its writers, also voiced his dissatisfaction at this lack of recognition.
