8 Vasantalu on OTT: Fans eager to stream the film for Ananthika Sanilkumar's performance

8 Vasantalu is the latest romantic drama that created a lot of hype ahead of its release. Directed by Phanindra Narisetti, the romantic drama was produced by the makers of Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers on a decent budget and was shot extensively in Ooty.

Well, as the film did not do well in theatres, the makers have locked the OTT release. We at OTTplay have already reported that 8 Vasantalu’s digital rights have been bagged by Netflix and will make it available for streaming from July 11, 2025.

Ananthika Sanilkumar plays the female lead in this film, and her performance was hugely appreciated by both critics and the general audience. As the content of the film is clean, the makers are expecting the film to do well on OTT. A section of the audience who missed the film in theaters is eager to stream the film only for Ananthika's performance.

8 Vasantalu has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab. All the songs were big hits even before the film released in theatres. This gave the film good hype, but all the negative talk did not help the film one bit at the box office.

The director, Phanindra, spoke highly about his film and stated that critics have no idea how to watch a film, and that is the reason his debut film Manu ended as a big flop at the box office. These comments became a talking point all over, and when the film released, the director faced a lot of trolling.

8 Vasantalu also had Hanu Reddy in a key role. The story of the film is about a young woman who falls in love twice but gets rejected both times. The performance of Ananthika in a very emotional role was the selling point of the film.

The first half of 8 Vasantalu is very good, but when it comes to the second half, things go downhill and the narration falls flat. Due to this, the film ended as a big flop at the box office.

8 Vasantalu made headlines for all the wrong reasons

These days, small films that do not work at the box office end up doing well on OTT. As the pace of the film is slow and the narration is poetic, the makers are expecting that their film will surely strike a chord with the family audience.
