8 Vasantalu is a new-age romantic drama that was in the news ahead of its release. One of the special reasons the film made headlines was that it was produced by the makers of Allu Arjun's Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers. Despite scoring a big flop with his debut film Manu, director Phanindra Narisetti was given a second chance by the makers of Pushpa. He had a huge responsibility and a good budget to make a polished romantic drama.

Phanindra Narisetti chose a classy love story, 8 Vasantalu, as his second film and roped in Malayalam actress Anantika Sanilkumar as the female lead. The film had two main leads, and they were mostly unknown faces. Not many even knew that a film was being made in the first place. But ahead of the film's release, the director made shocking comments about his debut film and how critics failed to recognize its potential. These comments did not go down well with many, and everyone was eager to see what Phani was up to with 8 Vasantalu.

Well, the film had great music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and was in the news for its stunning visuals, solid music, and impressive female lead. The makers were very confident and even aired special premieres ahead of the film’s reviews. But all this did not work in favor of 8 Vasantalu, as it failed at the box office.

Things got even more complicated when the film’s cinematographer accidentally revealed in a press interaction that Netflix had backed the digital rights of the film and that it would look even better on the small screen due to the color grading, visuals, and BGM. This confirmed that Netflix had acquired the rights for a fancy price, and that is the reason it will be out on July 11, 2025, which is within a month of its release.

As per the latest update, Enimidi Vasantalu is out on OTT, and you can stream the film on Netflix. Anantika Sanilkumar plays the female lead in this film, which is about a young writer who falls in love twice and gets rejected both times. This aspect is showcased in a very interesting manner in the first half, but it is the second half that falters.

Makers pin all hopes on 8 Vasantalu's OTT release

The pace is low, but it suits the mood of the OTT audience. As the songs were a big hit and the makers promoted the film aggressively, there will surely be a lot of people interested in watching it on Netflix.
