95th Oscar Nominations: From RRR's Naatu Naatu to The Elephant Whisperers, India gets 3 nods, Chello Show snubbed

The highly anticipated nominations for the 95th Academy Awards are finally out. World's most prestigious award honours films, filmmakers, actors, musicians and more from over 80 countries. Meanwhile, The people of our country can rejoice as three nominations have been bagged from India.

With no surprise, RRR's Naatu Naatu track has made it to the prestigious nomination list under the Original Song category. The M.M.Keeravaani musical is sharing the nomination with four other songs from international films such as Applause from Tell It Like A Woman, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and This Is A Like from Everything Everywhere All At Once.

All the people of India have appreciated and grooved to Natu Natu in 2022 and have also loved SS Rajamouli's RRR along with the world and made it one of the highest-grossing films in India.

Meanwhile, apart from Natu Natu, the other two Indian nominations are The Elephant Whisperers and All That Breathes, however, the highly anticipated Chhello Show did not make it to the list.

Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, the Netflix film is competing under the Best Documentary Short Film, while the Shaunak Sen directorial is nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film.

The 95th Oscar Awards is set to be held on March 12, 2023 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
