When the posters of Aadu 3 were revealed on February 1, fans were in for a surprise as their favorite characters from the popular franchise seemed to have undergone a major change. Even the lead character of Shaji Pappan (played by actor Jayasurya) from the previous installments of Aadu and Aadu 2 was portrayed as a monarch. So does that mean that Aadu 3 will have a completely different storyline from the first two movies? What’s Aadu 3 plot

Vijay Babu, who also plays the cop SI ‘Sarbath’ Shameer in Aadu franchise, has confirmed that Aadu Aadu 3 will pick up where we ended Aadu 2. He made the clarification in a recent interview with YouTube channel Milestone Makers.

“Aadu 3 has a connection to the previous films. Aadu 3 will pick up where we ended Aadu 2. In the last Aadu 2, Shaji Pappan and team got million dollars? What did they do with that? We will start from there itself. It is a straight continuation,” remarked the actor.

How different is Aadu 3 than the other two films

However, Vijay Babu did confirm the upcoming installment is bigger in terms of scale and the quirkiness factor.

“It is on a larger scale with a little more crazy thought. Aadu itself is a crazy thought. May be we can say even more crazier

It belongs to the epic fantasy genre. You must have already seen in the first-look, there are two-three timelines. We just gave a different look from the past timeline,” he said.

Vijay Babu further promised that ‘Aadu fans won't be disappointed’ as their favourite characters of Dude, Shaji Pappan, and Shameer will all be back in the 2026 film,

What’s Aadu films about

Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, Aadu was released in February 2015. Led by Jayasurya, the film revolves around Shaji Pappan and his gang of friends who win a goat as a prize for a tug-of-war contest. The film follows the misadventures of the group. Aadu 2 continues with their story, with the villain - Dude (played by Kalamkaval actor Vinayakan) - returning along with the lead cast.
