Helmed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, Aadu 3 registered a collection of Rs 7.20 crore on Saturday, day 3 at the box office, from 1,908 shows. This shows a growth of 14.3 per cent from the Friday’s figures of Rs 6.30 crore. The total India gross collections of Jayasurya-led Aadu 3 is at Rs 22.50 crore while the total net collection is at Rs 19.45 crore, Sacnilk has reported. The total worldwide gross is at Rs 48.70 crore, while the overseas collection is Rs 25.75 crore.
The overseas collection of Aadu 3 has been a topic of interest in Malayalam cinema, especially after the Middle East conflicts upset the release plans of movies. Kannada movie Toxic, starring Yash, deferred the March 19 release over the Gulf strife. But the Aadu 3 makers went ahead with the March 19 release, including in the GCC countries.
Director Midhun had also put out a special thank you post for the audiences in the Gulf countries as they turned up for the Jayasurya movie even amid the tense situation.
Aadu 3, the final installment in the comedy franchise, follows Shaji Pappan and his gang as they get caught up in more chaotic and hilarious incidents. The film, also penned by director Midhun, also has another past timeline with the same characters played by actors Jayasurya, Saiju Kurup, Vinayakan, Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, and Dharmajan Bolgatty among others. The film had opened to mixed reviews but continues its good run at the cinemas.
