About Abar Proloy

Abar Proloy is a Bengali crime thriller series, a spin-off of the film Proloy, following Special Crime Branch officer Animesh Datta (Saswata Chatterjee). He investigated a human trafficking ring in the Sundarbans, where teenage boys lured young girls for profit, leading to an intense fight against the traffickers.

More specifically, the Special Crime Branch Officer Animesh Dutta is sent to the Sundarbans, a hub for women trafficking, where teenage boys lure girls into love traps and then traffic them.

Dutta must dismantle the entire operation, confronting fearsome traffickers, criminals, and deceitful figures within the community. The dense, dangerous mangrove forests of the Sundarbans serve as a backdrop, adding an element of excitement. Dutta's investigation involves figures like the mysterious Shambhu Baba (Ritwick Chakraborty) and local women, including a constable named Madhabi (Koushani Mukherjee) who helps him.

The show explores themes of human trafficking, exploitation, and the fight against organised crime, mixing mystery with intense action. This series highlights corruption within the local system and Animesh's relentless efforts for justice.
