A son who sets out to free his father, who is wrongfully jailed in a case, is the plot of Akhil Sreenivas’ upcoming film Abhyuham. Touted as a thriller, the film, which has elements of curiosity and mystery, is set to hit theatres on July 21.

The makers of Abhyuham have released the trailer and songs for the film, and from the looks of it, it is a gripping thriller with several emotional sequences. The movie revolves around the lead character, played by Ajmal Ameer, who is a rubber tapper.  In a recent interview, Akhil revealed that although there isn't much suspense in Abhyuham, the narrative style used is different.

“The film cannot be considered a typical suspense thriller. The approach to the narration is very different. The audience will be able to travel through the film, find new angles, and reach their own conclusions while watching the movie," Akhil told Movie World Media.

He also said that the casting has added layers to the film since actors have played roles that are different from what they have done in the past.

“I think that every actor in this film has played a character that they have never played before. Ajmal, who has so far only been seen as a stylish villain, plays an ordinary rubber-tapping worker in Abhyuham. Kottayam Nazeer, who is known for his comic characters, is the villain of the film. Jaffer Idukki also has a pivotal role and was very excited to do it," the director added.

Akhil Sreenivas is not just the director of Abhyuham, but the writer as well.  The film stars Rahul Madhav, Ajmal Ameer, Jaffer Idukki, and Athmeeya Rajan. Telugu actress Malvi Malhotra is the female lead. It will release in theatres on July 21.
