After a ‘nice break’, Sonam Kapoor is now ‘dying to get back on a film set’

The Neerja actor will be next seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s crime-thriller Blind which is slated to release on ZEE5 later this year

Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, who gave birth to baby Vayu in August 2022, has now expressed her desire to get back to work. In a recent interview, the Neerja actor said that it’s been a ‘nice break’, but she would love to return to the movie set now.

She got married to London-based businessman, Anand Ahuja, at a lavish ceremony in 2028. The couple’s first child, Vayu, was born on August 20 last. While speaking with PTI, Sonam - who will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Blind, said, “Honestly, it’s been a nice break. I’ve been doing this since I was so young, but I now want to come back and start getting into things again. I did a film right before I got pregnant, now it’s releasing. I’m dying to get back on set because that’s what I’ve done most of my adult life.”

Speaking about Blind - a crime thriller film, in which she is playing the protagonist - the actor said, “My film is going to come out soon. Sujoy is the creative producer. It’s a thriller and I’m excited for people to see it.” The movie also features noted actors Vinay Pathak, Lillete Dubey and Purab Kohli. Directed by Shome Makhija, the narrative of the film focuses on a blind police officer, who is in search of a serial killer.

Also popular for her fashion choices and diet regime, Sonam is an inspiration to many on social media. Commenting on whether or not she’ll share pictures of Vayu on social media platforms, the actor said, “I don’t think till he’s grown up. In fact, it’ll be when he decides to do it himself.”

Some of her other prominent releases in recent years include Veere Di Wedding, Sanju, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and The Zoya Factor. Blind is releasing on ZEE5 later this year.
