After Dhurandhar, Shah Rukh Khan's King and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War to get part 2? Here's what we know

Upon its theatrical release, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar proved that Bollywood cinema is still alive and can collect more than Rs. 700 crore in a few days at the domestic box office. Now, as Dhurandhar Part 2 is all set to hit cinemas in March 2026, a report suggests that Shah Rukh Khan's King and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War might also have a part 2 to avoid box office competition from Dhurandhar Part 2.

Will King and Love & War get part 2 like Dhurandhar?

Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali may be taking a leaf out of Dhurandhar’s book as Bollywood Hungama reported that both camps are in detailed discussions over the releases of King and Love & War. With production costs skyrocketing, both films are reportedly considering splitting their films into two parts, with each film set to release in theaters within six months of the other.

A source informed the portal, "This will happen only if the two stalwarts have enough footage to split their films into two parts. Right now, they are both shooting for the film, and these are just preliminary discussions while dissecting the success of Dhurandhar. A final call on whether the films should arrive in a single part or two will be taken on the edit table."

The source also said that splitting the films into two parts is not only to maximise revenue from satellite and digital rights, but it also gives the filmmakers more creative freedom to explore subplots. Dhurandhar has infused a fresh perspective in all creators as well as business honchos. The next few months will be exciting," it added.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar Part 2 is all set to hit cinemas on March 19, 2026.

When is Love & War and King releasing?

Love & War, starring Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor was originally scheduled to be released in December 2025, but it was rescheduled to March 2026. However, it has reportedly been delayed again due to Dhurandhar Part 2 and Yash's Toxic, and now SLB is reportedly trying to release the movie in August or September 2026.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's King is all set to be released in 2026. The film stars SRK, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, and others.
