Neil Nitin Mukesh, who is awaiting the release of Hai Junoon, has hinted there could be more to Salman Khan's Bollywood silence statement. While the superstar had expressed how nobody would cheer for him when his movie releases (assuming that he doesn't need support), Hisaab Barabar actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has gone on to claim that Bollywood celebrates failures over successes. He went on to spill how the industry could be toxic, like Haddi actor Anurag Kashyap had pointed out before quitting Bollywood. Here's everything Neil said...

Neil Nitin Mukesh claims Bollywood celebrates failures

"Here we celebrate when a film doesn’t work on a Friday. You are happier for someone’s failure than for someone’s success," Neil Nitin Mukesh told Indian Express in an interview. The actor could be hinting at the recent Box Office struggles and how only a few movies stand apart year-after-year while others can rarely cross the benchmark (unrealistically high standard) set previously.

Did Neil Nitin Mukesh hint at Sikandar debacle?

While Neil Nitin Mukesh did not particularly hint at Sikandar debacle, that has been the hot topic for a while now. Salman Khan, who has been having a troubled time post-COVID with Radhe Antim: The Final Truth, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and now Sikandar not crossing a certain milestone his movies easily crossed pre-COVID, had spoken about not finding support from Bollywood ahead of his film's releases. It looks like Neil has hinted at a few in the industry celebrating Sikandar debacle at the Box Office, even if the actor did not mention it openly.

When asked if Bollywood has become toxic, Neil simply said, "It does happen, and it happens to a point where it gets toxic. I have seen that a lot, and I still see that a lot. I don’t like that conversation. For me, an industry is like my family, at least I used to feel that." He spoke of how industry peers do not call you up to laud your work till a person is extremely close to you.

Neil Nitin Mukesh on OTT

After Hisaab Barabar, Neil Nitin Mukesh will next be seen in Hai Junoon. The actor had made his Bollywood debut with Johnny Gaddaar, which was declared a superhit on release. He turned out to be a promising star and years later, he became a face on social media either through his relatable song/character from New York or because of a popular meme. Co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Hai Junoon is scheduled for May 16 release.
