Telugu viewers are getting the summer treat they deserve this weekend both on the big screen and the small screen. While a spy thriller and an epic drama fight it out at the theatres this weekend, there are a handful of options for viewers on OTT. Here’s all you need to look at, before you sort your streaming playlist this weekend.

Theatrical releases:

Agent

The story revolves around a young, wild spy who’s deputed on a mission to end the rein of an underworld baron. Stars Akhil Akkineni, Mammootty, Sakshi Vaidya, Dino Morea and others and directed by Surender Reddy and written by Vakkantham Vamsi. The film, with music by Hiphop Tamizha, is produced by Anil Sunkara.

Ponniyin Selvan 2

The second part of the historical drama, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s epic novel Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Trisha Krishnan, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Rahman and others. The film has music by AR Rahman and is distributed in Telugu by Dil Raju.

OTT releases:

Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu

Vijay (Sohel) is an unsuccessful film director hailing from a family that makes Kondapalli toys for a living. While helping his parents sell the toys at a plush hotel, he meets Hasini (Mirnalini Ravi), the daughter of a businessman Organic Venkataramana (Rajendra Prasad). He’s furious when he comes to know of his daughter’s relationship with Vijay. Directed by SV Krishna Reddy.

Jallikattu

Pettaikaali, the show that shed new light on the controversial regional sport Jallikattu, is reaching out to Telugu audiences. Written and directed by La.Rajkumar, the show, presented by Vidudhalai Part 1 filmmaker Vetri Maaran is headlined by Kishore, Kalaiarasan, Antony, Sheela, Velaramamoorthy, Balahaasan and Lovelin.

Dasara (April 27)

Set in Veerlapally village, the film revolves around Dharani (Nani) and Suri (Dheekshith Shetty), childhood friends who rob coal for a living. Dharani loves Vennela(Keerthy Suresh) but she likes Suri. In a turn around of events, Suri and Dharani get embroiled in the political tussle related to the bar. Will Dharani step up at the right moment? Directed by Srikanth Odela.

Vyavastha (April 28)

Created and directed by Oy filmmaker Anand Ranga, Vyavastha brings together Care of Kancharapalem-fame actor Karthik Rathnam, Hebah Patel, Kamna Jethmalani and Sampath Raj. A fresh law graduate Vamsi Krishna challenges a ruthless senior Lawyer Chakraborty, who has monopolised the legal system by creating an organisation which has the best lawyers working for him.

Save The Tigers (April 27)

Save The Tigers is touted to be a satire/comedy revolving around three couples. It unfolds through the eyes of frustrated husbands Ganta Ravi, Goutham, and Vikram, who accidentally meet and forge a bond by discussing their marital problems. Stars Priyadarshi, Abhinav Gomatam and Chaitanya Krishna, directed by Teja Kakumanu and co-created by Mahi V Raghav, Pradeep Advaitham.

Poster (April 28)

The film aims to say that no one on earth is without problems but suicide can’t be the solution for it. It’s important to give us some time to move on. The film is based on a man’s story, who is neglected by everyone is welcomed by the same people later.
