Akshay Kumar has recreated Main Khiladi Tu Anari title track. The actor did that for two reasons. One reason was that the song is a part of his upcoming movie Selfiee. Another reason was to wish his ‘partner-in-crime’ Saif Ali Khan happy birthday.

Akshay recreated the song after 28 long years. He shared that the track brought back some fond memories.

The actor wished Saif a happy birthday. It is to be noted that while Saif is not on social media, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most influential celebs on Instagram. She has not left a comment on the post thus far.

Akshay’s Selfiee is a movie featuring him with Emraan Hashmi. Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty are reportedly roped in as the female leads in the movie which is the remake of Prithviraj’s Driving Licence.

Raj Mehta, who helmed Jug Jugg Jeeyo most recently, is directing the film. The original movie was directed by Lal Jr.

Driving Licence was a movie around a superstar who loses his driving licence. The irony is that this superstar is known for his driving skills. Making matters worse, this superstar locks horns with a motor inspector who was a fan of the actor before meeting him.

Selfiee is being bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. Interestingly, Prithviraj has also agreed to produce the film under his banner, Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames.

The release date for Selfiee is still unconfirmed but it is expected to release in 2022 itself. Whether it releases in theatres or on OTT, is also yet to be confirmed.
