Alaap actress Mimi Chakraborty explains the secret of making a hit pair

After the success of Raktabeej, Mimi Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee have paired up once again for Premendu Bikash Chaki’s Alaap. Raktabeej – a thriller, shows a hit chemistry between the actor and the actress. In fact, Abir and Mimi’s jodi has received a lot of appreciation from viewers and critics alike. Evidently, the viewers are keen to see if their chemistry works in Alaap. Billed as a rom-com, the film is all set to be released on April 26.

What is the recipe behind the making of a hit pair? While talking to OTTplay, Mimi clearly said that no thought goes behind making a pair loved by so many people. “When you don’t think about it, it becomes a hit pair,” she said. Elaborating further, the actress explained that after Bojhena Shey Bojhena, her pair with Soham Chakraborty became a hit. In fact, they did quite a few films together. While some films worked well at the box office, finally it came to a saturation point. Golpo Holeo Shotti worked well and Bangali Babu did not work. “People liked our pair and we worked together on a few films. We just have no idea how one pair works and gets a lot of love from the audience. There is a kind of X-factor that works. There is no formula to make so many people like your pair so much,” the actress said.

Talking about Alaap, she said that it is one of the films where the director was adamant about Mimi as the female lead. “Usually, it is the other way around. The hero gets decided first and then the heroine is selected based on numerous other factors. Thanks to Chakida (director), I was associated with since the beginning even when situations changed, I was there,” she said.
