All of Us Strangers is a British fantasy romance that was written and directed by Andrew Haigh and was based on the 1987 novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada. As the second feature adaptation of the novel, after The Disincarnates (1988) the film is loosely based on the original horror plot, taking a romantic detour instead.

Release Date and OTT Platform of All of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival and had limited theatrical releases in the United States on December 22, 2023, and January 26, 2024, in the United Kingdom. The film is now all set for its digital and OTT debut. The romantic fantasy thriller will stream on Hulu February 22, 2024, onwards, and be available for rent or purchase on all major digital retailers like Prime Video and Apple TV.

Cast of All of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers features Fleabag Hot Priest Andrew Scott in a different avatar this time, in the role of a lonely screenwriter Adam. Paul Mescal of Normal People fame essays the role of his mysterious love interest cum neighbor, Harry. The Crown star Claire Foy and Snowpiercer actor Jamie Bell play the role of Andrew Scott’s long-deceased parents.

Trailer and plot of All of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers sees lonely screenwriter Adam and his mysterious neighbor Harry form a romantic bond with long talks and intimate moments thrown into the mix. Their sizzling chemistry is glimpsed in the trailer through sensual and appealing scenes of the two loving one another intimately.

The word love is thrown around between the two in the trailer as well, as we see the two spill their inner secrets and childhood incidents. Well, mostly Adam does the spilling while Harry patiently and fondly listens. But this sensual love story is fragmented by Adam’s frequent visit to his childhood home and spending hours with his parents. The problem, his parents died in a car accident when he was twelve.

The film slowly and surreally explores the intermingling of thoughts, memories, desires, and loneliness. As the audience, we, too, explore the possibilities surrounding the sudden resurrection of Adam’s parents in the film and watch him experience as an adult the childhood and time with his parents he never had.
