The much-awaited second instalment of the Pushpa franchise, Pushpa: The Rule, went on floors recently amid a lot of media scrutiny. Director Sukumar and the team is said to have begun the proceedings at Hyderabad's iconic Ramoji Film City with a set piece erected for the film.

Film's lead actor Allu arjun was reportedly not presented when things were kicked off and is expected to soon join the sets.

However, fans are likely to get a special glimpse of Pushpa 2 earlier than anticipated as the latest reports suggest that the maiden teaser of the film will come attached as part of the Avatar 2 screenings. Avatar: The Way of Water will release worldwide on December 16 in six different languages in India with Telugu being one of the main dubbed versions. Official confirmation of the same could be expected to be made at the earliest.

Written and directed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rule is the follow-up to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, a film chronicling the rise of the titular character (played by Allu Arjun) from a low-wage labourer to become the kingpin of the redwood smuggling nexus in Andhra Pradesh. The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Anasuya, and Dhananjaya, among others. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil made his Telugu debut with Pushpa: The Rise and will reprise his role in the second part as the main antagonist of the film. Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar serve as the producers under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.

As far as the shooting of Pushpa 2 is concerned, reports reveal that director Sukumar chose to postpone the all-important Bangkok schedule and instead, has chosen to start things off on a slightly smaller note in Hyderabad. About 30% of the film is expected to be covered in the Bangkok schedule with the forests of the region proving to be a near-ideal location for the film's rustic setting. For now, all eyes on Avatar 2!
