It was Anirban Bhattacharya’s birthday and the actor-turned-director decided to celebrate the day with his team of Ballabhpurer Roopkotha. The cast and crew members, including Surangana Bandyopadhyay and Satyam Bhattacharya, gathered at a South Kolkata Eatery to launch the first song, Shaajo Shaajao. Penned by Anirban and composed by Debraj Bhattacharya, the song is sung by Sahana Bajpaei. The song is arranged by Subhadeep Guha – Anirban’s long-time associate.

On the occasion, an excited Anirban said, “The song is soothingly delivered by Sahanadi, who needs no introduction. Her voice profoundly serves the purpose here and we are delighted greatly. The music is arranged and composed by Debraj and Subhodeep who knows which percussion to add and how to enhance the melody. The lyrics are an amalgamation of feelings and emotions which are initially being processed and finally evolve into a declaration of something mellow. The song is a result of complete teamwork.”

Surangana said, “Working with Anirbanda in his first directorial feature is huge! I am extremely glad that he has shown his trust in me and has given me the golden opportunity to be a part of a memorable journey. Today, it is his birthday, and thus it is a more special moment for all of us to launch the song.”

Based on Badal Sircar’s play, the film revolves around the eccentric story of Ballabhpur Rajbari and its last descendant. The story starts with a dilapidated Rajbari of Ballabhpur where only two people reside. The dynasty has almost gone and there is no wealth left except for the ruins. Both the dwellers are struggling with heavy debts in a hopeless situation. However, things change one day when they get an offer to sell the property. That follows a series of hilarious actions and reactions that turn Ballabhpur Rajbari into a total mess in one night.

Produced by SVF, the film is all set to release during Diwali this year.
