Ankur Bhatia, who was recently in news for his role in Aarya 2, might have just bagged a huge project. The actor has reportedly been roped in to play the antagonist in Shahid Kapoor’s next film. The movie is being helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

A source informs Pinkvilla that Ankur has been roped in after seeing his grey shade in Aarya. This person shares that Ankur will be seen in a quirky, never-seen-before look in the upcoming movie. His character is also likely to be colourful.

Ankur will play the lead antagonist in the film while Shahid plays the protagonist. Both the actors will be seen in action in the movie which promises to be a ‘strikingly different’ action film.

The said film is touted to be the remake of the French film, Nuit Blanche. The movie is more popularly known as Sleepless Night and has been well received ever since its debut at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival).

Sleepless Night was also remade in America. Warner Bros. Studios acquired the remake rights to the movie. The 2015 film, Sleepless, starred Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan in the lead roles.

Nuit Blanche was also adapted in Tamil before its Hindi version. The Kamal Haasan starrer was titled Thoongaa Vanam.

In the Hindi version, Shahid plays the role of a cop. He would chase drug lords across the city. From the looks of it, Ankur would be one of the biggest drug lords in the city.

The movie also stars Sanjay Kapoor in the lead role. The release date of this project, however, is yet to be confirmed.
