How Anu Malik remembered late singer Prashant Tamang

Indian Idol fame singer and actor Prashant Tamang passed away on January 11, and his sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. According to media reports, Prashant died at the age of 43 after suffering a heart attack. Prashant explored fame with his musical talent when he entered Indian Idol 3 and also emerged as the winner of the season. Anu Malik met Prashant on the sets of the reality show (Indian Idol), where he was a judge. The music composer expressed grief on Prashant’s death and also expressed condolences to his family. During an interview with Hindustan Times, Anu Malik recalled his time with Prashant when he used to alter his singing according to the suggestions. He also called him a workaholic and a superb human being.

"I was in a recording and this news has spaced me out completely. I had seen his struggle, seen him grow, take my criticism and praise. He would take my feedback, makes changes in the mukhda, antra and ask me how is it sounding? I had never seen such madness in anybody, I would tell him to take it easy but that guy was a workaholic and superb human being," Anu Malik said.

The singer also shared that he was also shocked by Zubeen Garg’s death, and now another musician has passed away, which has shocked him to the core. "We just lost Zubeen Garg, and how do I process this news now? He had a full life ahead in terms of music and shows. I would tell him he should do more shows. My heart goes out to the family, and I hope God gives them tremendous strength to bear the loss,” the Indian Idol judge added.

Meanwhile, Prashant’s wife, Martha Aley, confirmed that her husband passed away in a natural death while he was asleep and extended gratitude to everyone who showered love and praises on her partner.

A few months ago, Prashant took to his Instagram account and shared a carousel post that hinted at his role in Salman Khan's upcoming war drama film. Although more details about his character are still unknown, Battle of Galwan will remain a special film for the Pataal Lok 2 actor's fans. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan will hit the screens on April 17, 2026.
