In an interview with ‘The Film Companion’, Anurag Kashyap revealed the reason behind naming the film as ‘Kennedy’. Film maker Anurag said, I had a specific actor in my mind when I wrote the film. And that is why the film is called ‘Kennedy’. Because, that actor’s real name is ‘Kennedy’. The film was called as ‘Kennedy Project’… He is Chiyaan Vikram. His nickname name is Kennedy. I reached out to him, he never responded. And that’s when I reached out to Rahul (Bhat). His reaction was enthusiastic. He gave eight months of his life to this film. I told him that he shouldn’t be sleeping. After about one and a half month, when I saw him, he was so unhygienic with his beard and stuff. I saw him and I told him, “You are doing the role’. His devotion, sincerity and total surrender to the role is incredible”.

On the other hand, actor cum supermodel Karishma Modi is extremely elated for her Cannes debut with Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’. The actress is now all set to head to the French Riviera to attend the Cannes Film Festival along with Anurag Kashyap and his team. Karishma Modi, who plays a significant character named ‘Gunjan’ in the film Kennedy, brings an interesting nuance to her character through her magnetic screen presence & versatile acting ability.

While the details of her role are being kept under wraps, when asked how she landed the role, Karishma said, “I got a call from a casting agency to audition for this role, but thought it was a fake until Anurag Sir told me it was real. Being someone who is passionate about acting, I rehearsed my lines at home and gave my best in the audition, only to find out soon after that I was playing the role of ‘Gunjan’.”

Elaborating on her experience of working with Anurag, she mentioned, “I was ecstatic, to be honest, but a little nervous at the same time, considering it’s a privilege to work with a director like him. I’ve always admired Anurag Sir’s style of working and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of working with him.”
