Vrusshabha follows a father-son duo, with the latter having past life memories that drive him on a path of revenge against the former. The Mohanlal led film releases on December 25

The promotions of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s next, Vrusshabha, have officially kicked off with the release of the first song from the film. Appa, the heartbeat of Vrusshabha, an emotional track about the timeless bond between a father and son, composed by Sam CS, has been released in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The video song features Mohanlal, Samarjit Lankesh, who plays his son, Ragini Dwivedi and Nayan Sarika.

The song has Mohanlal’s character reminiscing about his bond with his son, after being forced to leave the latter at a mental health institute. Samarjit is seen writhing on a bed that he’s been chained too, while authorities try to restrain him. According to the official log line of the film, Samarjit’s character begins to have flashes of memories of a past life, wherein he and his father, were deadly foes.
He is reminded of the atrocity his father had unleashed in his past life and vows to kill the latter. This change in the youngster’s behavioural pattern is what, one assumes, leads modern-day Mohanlal to get his son the help that he needs from mental health professionals. Also, seen in the song are Ragini, who plays Mohanlal’s wife, and Nayan, presumably Samar’s love interest.
The fantasy action drama, directed by Kannada filmmaker Nandakishore, will be in theatres on December 25. Made initially as a Malayalam-Telugu bilingual, the film will release with Kannada, Tamil and Hindi versions as well. It was initially meant to release in October, but was then pushed to November and then Christmas.
In the last few days, there was a strong buzz that Vrusshabha was unlikely to make the December 25 cut, as there are multiple Malayalam releases in the last few weeks of the year, including Bha Bha Bha, in which Mohanlal has a cameo, on the 18th, Sarvam Maya with Nivin Pauly and Mindiyum Paranjum with Unni Mukundan on the 25th. However, Nandakishore said that there would be no more postponements and that the film will release as scheduled.
