The shoot for Arya's upcoming film with director Muthiaya began in Chennai today. The muhurat puja ceremony was held in the morning for which the lead star cast and the crew was present. Arya was seen sporting a thick beard, which is said to be his look for the film, while Siddhi Idnani, who was recently seen in Silambarasan's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, was beaming in an elegant ethnic attire. This is the first time that the trio of Muthaiya, Arya and Siddhi Idnani are coming together for a film.


Taking to her social media handle, Siddhi Idnani wrote, "With the blessings of the almighty, here’s the next one #Arya34 Need all your prayers (sic)." It was not long ago that Arya had informed OTTplay that he will be soon seen in a rural subject helmed by Muthiaya. Music for the film is by GV Prakash Kumar. The film, which is tentatively being referred to as #Arya34, is bankrolled by Drumsticks Productions and Zee Studios.


The production house wrote on its social media page, "A story of our land, love, pride and prestige @arya_offl and @dir_muthaiya come together for the first time. @zeestudiossouth & @DrumsticksProd presents #Arya34, Shoot begins today! A A @gvprakash musical (sic)."


Interestingly, Arya's recent release Captain, a sci-fi thriller directed by Shakti Sounder Rajan, too is streaming on ZEE5. Arya plays Captain Vetriselvan in the film who takes on mysterious creatures to save people. The film star's cast comprises Simran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Harish Uthaman and Kavya Shetty. Captain opened to negative reviews from the critics and audience and the film had its OTT premiere on September 30.


Muthaiya's last release was Karthi's Viruman, which set the cash registers ringing at the box office. The film marked the debut of director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar into films, who is now working on her second film, Maveeran opposite Sivakarthikeyan.
