Powerhouse of talents Jayaram and Urvashi will be reuniting for a Tamil film. The two actors, who are household names in both Tamil and Malayalam industry, and known for their exceptional comic timing, will be seen together in a film, which was confirmed by Jayaram at a recent interview.

Are Jayaram and Urvashi reuniting?

Yes, Jayaram and Urvashi are working in a film together, and it happens to be a Tamil film. The hit pair, known for their films like Panchathanthiram, Kadinjool Kalyanam, Chakkikotha Chankaran, and many others, will be coming together for a film directed by Pandiraj.

In conversation with Gobinath for his podcast, both Jayaram and his son-actor Kalidas Jayaram took part. The father-son duo has their Malayalam film Ashakal Ayiram releasing on February 6. During the interaction, Jayaram confirmed that he will be reuniting with Urvashi for a film. "In Pandiraj sir's direction, Urvashi and I are doing a Tamil film. We are reuniting after 20 years. The shooting is going on and we are yet to finalise on the title. Urvashi and I are playing the hero and heroine,” Jayaram said.

The actor further talked about the making of the film, in which the actors had to do multiple takes given both of them have high humour sense on the sets. “We take about 10-15 takes for every scene. Either I laugh or Urvashi does,” he added.

What else do we know about the project?

It is yet to be officially announced the title and other casting of Jayaram and Urvashi’s film. However, given both the seasoned actors are known for their comic timing, the project is expected to be an entertainer. Pandiraj, who is also known for his family dramas, had last made the romantic comedy drama Thalaivan Thalaivii starring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen.

Meanwhile, Jayaram and Urvashi had recently paired up for an anthology segment in Putham Pudhu Kaalai which released in 2020, co-starring Kalidas and Kalyani Priyadarshan as well.
