Celebrated Marathi actor Amey Wagh plays the character of Rasool in the web series Asur 2, and he says he is ready to receive hate for such a negative character from his fans.

Talking about how he is getting recognition for his show, Asur 2 Amey told OTTplay, "Earlier I used to think that in Maharashtra I could not walk around the street that easily because I have been working in the Marathi industry and people recognise my work. But after the release of this show, I realised that I could not do that even across the country because people looked at me as Rasool. If they hate me, I will take that as a compliment, but with the show, I am surely receiving a lot of love, and that hatred towards Rasool is also appreciated because it means I managed to convince the audience that I am Rasool."

In the past, he acted in popular Marathi films like Popat, Faster Fene, and Muramba. He also appeared in Hindi web series like Sacred Games 2, Cartel, and The Great Indian Murder, among others.

Asked about his hangover with an intense character like Rasool, Amey said, "Rasool is such a dangerous character that one cannot afford to get a hangover of his once the camera is off. I could have been a mess in real life if I had started behaving like Rasool after the shooting of the show. He is not a character you wish to bring home. So, I maintain a strong line and never get them blurred between reel and real. But yes, I used to zone out on the set because it was my way to get into the mind space of the character."

Set in Banaras, Asur 2 also stars Barun Sobti, Arshad Warsi, Meiyang Chang, Anurita Jha, and Barkha Bisht. It is available to stream on JioCinema.
