Looks like the solidarity among Kannadigas has yielded yet another impressive result. Following the recent dissent over the absence of the Kannada version in the release slate of Avatar: The Way of Water the makers have come forth with a pleasant surprise by announcing that the mega Hollywood production will now release in six different Indian languages.

Avatar 2 producer Jon Landau took to social media to express his awe for the diversity that exists in India and emphatically announce that the upcoming film will release in India also in Kannada along with English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. "So excited for you to experience Avatar: The Way of Water in 6 languages," said Landau in his tweet before sharing the Kannada trailer of Avatar 2.

He wrote, "Namaste India! I see you. Your diversity continues to amaze me. I am so excited for you to experience #AvatarTheWayOfWater in 6 languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Let's celebrate the return to Pandora on 16th Dec. Please enjoy the Kannada trailer."

To make things only more endearing, 20th Century Studios India presented the trailer on social media with a Kannada caption. Netizens, for obvious reasons, were charmed by the move as they thanked the makers of Avatar 2 for paying heed to their sentiments. In the same vein, many also urged that the film should have an appropriate wide release across Karnataka and not limit the dubbed version to a few select screens.

"Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure," reads the premise of the upcoming film. James Cameron, who co-writes the film with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, returns to the director's chair with three additional sequels in sight. Avatar: The Way of Water is set to release worldwide on December 16, 2022.
